So here it is, 2017, am really excited to be launching my first blog and a brand new website... am hoping you will like the modern, stylish new look.
I am starting this year as I mean to go on concentrating fully on my wedding cake business and sharing with you some of my thoughts and possibly ramblings about the design process behind some of my wedding cakes and recipes, along with snippets of behind the scenes both in my kitchen and out on deliveries.
You might be wondering who am I? Well I’m Tanya and I started The Cotswold Cake Kitchen in 2011 to allow me to share something I love doing combining baking with art. I say art, because every cake is a work of art, a combination of delicious flavours and imaginative designs made possible by the vast array of edible mediums available in cake decorating today, my personal favourite being able to create beautiful stand out sugar flowers.
I am lucky enough to have grown up in one of the most picturesque areas of our English countryside, The Cotswolds and have done my fair share of travelling, but The Cotswolds is in my blood and draws me back every time. For weddings, the choice of venues here is vast and varies from imposing manor estates and castles to cosy country inns or Cotswold barns. It was clear to me it was the ideal location to base my kitchen for creating wedding cakes; hence this is where my focus lies. Apart from the fact that I love the romance of a wedding and of course I love cake.
Finally I would like to thank all my customers without whom this wouldn’t be possible and a massive thank you goes out to all my friends and family for their amazing support. Here’s looking forward to a fabulous year filled with love and cake and happiness.
